Luke's gospel focuses more on the poor and the outcasts than any other gospel.  The poor and the outcast tend to know of their lost condition more readily than those esteemed in this world.  Luke writes for everyone.  He reflects the determination of a rescuing and redeeming God, to fill His heavenly dwelling.

In Matthew God used a traitor to write the gospel to the Jews.  In Mark God used a quitter to write the gospel for the gentiles.  Sometimes in following Jesus I feel like I take 2 steps forward and 3 steps back.  I feel like I am a weakling and a failure... I am tempted to quit.  That is when I am reminded, God uses and transforms quitters... so I don't.
