Luke writes for everyone. He reflects the determination of a rescuing and redeeming God, to fill His heavenly dwelling.

He includes unique details the other writers do not address. Luke gives more information about Jesus' youth than any of the others. And what he reveals should convict and challenge each of us as to the WHO, WHY, and WHAT of life!

Matthew was considered a traitor to his own people, the Jews. As a tax collector, his reputation was worthless. Yet God transformed him and chose him to write the gospel to the Jews! God uses the most unlikely people to accomplish His will! That includes you and me!

In Matthew God used a traitor to write the gospel to the Jews. In Mark God used a quitter to write the gospel for the gentiles. Sometimes in following Jesus I feel like I take 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. I feel like I am a weakling and a failure... I am tempted to quit. That is when I am reminded, God uses and transforms quitters... so I don't.
